Functions of Chief Planning Office:
The CPO is the overall in-charge of all items of Statistics and Planning work in the District and acts as the Nodal Officer at District level for collection, compilation and dissemination of data. The CPO is responsible for Co-ordinating with all line departments on all Statistical items of work and special programmes as assigned by the Government. The CPO will also assist the District Collector in Planning, Monitoring and review of all the developmental programmes.
The department collects, compile and disseminate the Statistical data for the following items of work.
- Rainfall Statistics
- Agricultural statistics
- Crop Estimation Surveys
- Prices
- Local Bodies Accounts
- Industrial Statistics
Conduct of Censuses and Surveys:
. Agriculture Census for Kharif & Rabi
- Census of Land Holdings
- Minor Irrigation Census
- Economic Census
- Socio Economic Surveys
KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
- The average or normal rainfall of the District is about 836.8 mm., and about 79.6% of annual rainfall is being received from the South-West monsoon alone during June to September, every year
- During the period from 2011-12 to 2020-21, the annual actual rainfall received was lowest in 2014-15 with 9 mm., whereas it was the highest in 2020-21 with 1005.7 mm.
- During the Hot whether month May, the Maximum Temperature recorded in district as 5 c and minimum temperature recorded in the District as 26.8 c in 2020-21.
- During the 2020-21 winter seasons, the Minimum Tempera ture recorded in district is 18.9 c and Maximum temperature recorded is 9 c.
