BRIEF NOTE ON FOREST DEPARTMENT, SURYAPET.

Suryapet Forest Division is formed from Erstwhile Nalgonda Division in 2016-17. The Forest division comprises three ranges i.e Suryapet, Kodad, and Huzurnagar.

Indragonda Urban park – Suryapet :

  • Urban park created in 03 Ha in Indragonda RF, Distance Around 5 Kms from Suryapet Muncipality. This site offers excellent opportunities for activities like Rock climbing, trekking, and other eco-tourism activities. This park promotes a healthier environment and it can be developed as Urban Lung Space by providing minimum amenities to the visitors.
  • See through wall chain link Fencing was carried out all around the Indragonda Urban Forest Block with a perimeter length of 13.42 kms.
  • Miyawaki plantation and Haritha vanalu raised at saturated level. Facilities created were Pathways in 8 Kms, sitting benches, Pagoda, Open gym, Rachabanda and Washrooms along with Gate and Ticket

Planting target: 5.425 Lakhs

Achievement: 49.331 Lakhs with 92.29 %

Vanmahotsavam – 2025

          Government has finalized planting target of 59.884 lakhs for Suryapet     District in which 4.30 lakhs for Forest Department for 2025 planting season.
