PROHIBITION AND EXCISE DEPARTMENT: SURYAPET DISTRICT
Introduction:
In the district there are four (4) Prohibition and Excise Stations i.e., Suryapet, Huzurnagar, Kodad and Thungathurthy covering (23) Revenue Mandals , (279) Revenue villages.
Organizational setup:
The District is headed by the District Proh.& Excise Officer. The District Proh.& Excise Officer grants licences to A4 shops, Toddy shops under Excise Laws and also issue licences to 2B bars and In- house licences and release the revenue by enforcing the Prohibition & Excise Laws & other associated laws.
- Stations: To implement Prohibition & Excise Laws at ground level there are (4) P&E Stations functioning in the District and each station is headed by a Station House Officer of the rank of Inspector. He is assisted by two or three Proh. & Excise Sub-Inspectors, Head Constables and Constables. Jurisdiction of Prohibition & Excise Stations, its mandals (villages & Thandas).
- DTF: There is one (1) task force which works under the control of District Prohibition & Excise Officer to control illicit distillation and other excise crimes in the district.
- Check Posts: To prevent smuggling of IMFL, NDPL, ID liquor & other intoxicants, One (1) check post is working at Nallabandagudem of Kodad Station Limits.

GEPRS ( Gudumba Effected Persons Rehabilitation Scheme ):
The Government has issued orders vide G.O.Ms.No.216,Rev(Ex-II)Dept., dt:23.3.2017 to rehabilitate Four Hundred and Forty Five (445) Gudumba Effected Persons in Suryapet District as a part of the Economic Support Schemes under Tribal Welfare, SC Welfare, BC Welfare and Minorities Welfare Departments.
