Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS):

          In Suryapet district, under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 2.63 lakh job cards were issued, and 2.60 lakh people worked, resulting in the creation of 55.16 lakh person-days of work.   For this, a total of ₹120.14 Crores has been paid as wages to workers in the financial year 2024-25 so far, and ₹73.75 Crores has been spent on the materials works.

Vanamahotsavam:

         For the year 2024-25, the district’s rural development target was 25.0 lakh trees, and 27.369 lakh trees were planted, achieving 109.48% of the target.

Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM):

          As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, efforts are underway to transform all village panchayats into ODF Plus model villages. Plastic waste management units (PWM Units) are being established. In line with reducing single-use plastic, steel banks have been set up in all village panchayat offices. Personal and community sanitary latrines are being constructed. Information on 2700 households without toilets has been collected and entered into the Citizen Registration Portal. Estimations for 1061 toilets have been issued, and so far, 381 toilets have been approved. Additionally, the construction of (4) community sanitary complexes is underway, with each costing ₹3.00 lakh.

SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty) :

  • The SERP works with various Government and non-Government sectors, aiming to eradicate poverty in rural areas. In the Bhanuprui district federation, 1,84,281 poor women have registered in 579 village organizations (17,940  SHGs).
  • New Self-Help Groups (SHGs): 172 new Self-help Groups with 5,999 members were formed.
  • Cheyutha: The Government provides pensions to 1,46,478 pensioners in the district under the Social Security Scheme, amounting to Rs. 36.38 Crores per month. Among these, Rs. 4,016/- is provided to disabled pensioners and Rs. 2,016/- is provided to other eligible pensioners.
  • SADAREM: A total of 1,914 certificates were distributed in the district in the 2024-25 Financial Year.
  • Bank Linkage: For the financial year 2024-25, the target for 14,698 groups is Rs. 707.25 Crores. As of this month, Rs. 710.88 Crores has been provided to 6,395 groups.
  • Vaddi Leni Runaalu: Rs. 9.92 crore of loan subsidy was credited to the accounts of 9,425 women self-help groups in the district (for December 2023, January, February, and March months).
  • Sthree Nidhi: For the financial year 2024-25, a target of providing ₹85 crores through the Sthree Nidhi bank loan has been set. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing livelihood opportunities, particularly in rural areas, and ₹79.20 Crores have already been disbursed.
  • Non-Agricultural Livelihoods: Out of the 4972 units, 4420 units have been grounded, and ₹386.51 Crores have been disbursed to the beneficiaries.
  • Paddy Procurement Centers (Marketing): For the financial year 2024-25, during the monsoon season, 168 procurement centers were established. A total of 12.32 lakh quintals of paddy were procured from 24,893 farmers, and ₹2859 crores were credited to the farmers’ accounts.
  • Mahila Shakthi: The Telangana Government has launched the “Women’s Empowerment” scheme to support women. Under this initiative, women’s Self-Help Groups in the state are being supported for self-employment through 14 types of income development programs. Out of 8623 units, 8695 units have been identified, and 4787 units have been grounded. These include micro-enterprises 4426, livestock-based livelihoods Milch animals 38, women’s tailoring centers 138, poultry farming  317, poultry mother units 2,Milk parlol 1, fish farming 1, women’s canteens 1, and solar power generation units 2,food processing units 2, among others . Beneficiaries have been identified and the grounding of these units has been completed.
