BRIEF NOTES OF GOVERNMENT GENERAL HOSPITAL, SURYAPET
The Government of Telangana has upgraded District Headquarter Hospital, Suryapet which was under the control of TVVP to 400 bedded Government General Hospital, Suryapet attached to Government Medical College, Suryapet under the control of Director of Medical Education, Telangana, Hyderabad (DME) to provide effective, seamless, quality, various medical services to needy patients.
The Government of Telangana has accorded administrative sanction for an amount of Rs.485. crores (Rupees Four Hundred and Eighty-Five crores only) towards construction, recruitment of staff, procurement of equipment & furniture for establishment of new Government Medical College / Government General Hospital at Suryapet and also accord administrative sanction for an amount of Rs.14,35,37,010/- (Rupees Fourteen Crores Thirty-Five Lakhs Thirty Seven Thousand and Ten only) towards acquisition of land. Presently, new teaching hospital construction for 600 beds as per NMC norms is ongoing.
Emergency Services
Now, Government General Hospital, Suryapet is functioning successfully as exceptional patient centric Hospital providing round the clock quality, effective, seamless services in emergency services with Causality/Emergency, Modern Labor room with Maternal Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Surgical Intensive care unit (SICU), Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)/ Special New Born Care Unit (SNCU), Trauma Care Centre, Dialysis Unit etc.,
- Enhancement of Arogya Sri Scheme from 5 Lakh to 10 Lakhs.
- Establishment of Transgender Clinic.
- Establishment of Geriatric Care Center, Day Care Chemotherapy Center and Palliative Care Services.
- Upgradation of Non-Communicable Disease Clinic.
- Telangana State has implemented T-HUB lab services for providing vide level of laboratory services.
Palliative Care Centre:
8 Bedded Palliative care centre is established by the Government of Telangana to serve cancer patients, Dialysis patients and Cervical Cancer screening services with 24X7 Home care services under NCD program in Government General Hospital, Suryapet.
DIALYSIS CENTER:
In view of inconvenience facing by the Dialysis patients of Suryapet District, the Government of Telangana has established (5) bedded Dialysis unit in the Government General Hospital, Suryapet on 09.04.2018 in co-ordination with SAP Medical Pvt. Ltd., under cluster III for providing free dialysis services to patients.
LIQUID MEDICAL OXYGEN PLANT AND PSA PLANTS:
During Covid-19 pandemic, Government of Telangana has accorded permission for establishment of Liquid Medical Oxygen Plant with 13 Kilo Litre Capacity to avoid lack of medical oxygen for the needy patients. In addition to the Liquid Medical Oxygen plant, to avoid lack of oxygen in the emergency conditions PSA plant with 1000 LPM capacity under PMCARES was established in the premises of the Government General Hospital, Suryapet.
SADARAM Camps & Medical Board: Conversion to UDID:
After the establishment of Government Medical College, Suryapet attached to the Government General Hospital, Suryapet, Medical Board is established with a panel of Specialist Doctors to issue SADAREM Certificates to persons with disabilities (PWDs), Medical Certificate Genuinity, Medical Invalidation Certificates, Physical Fitness Certificates etc., As per the instructions of the District Collector, Suryapet (4) SADAREM Camps per month are being conducted for assessment of disability percentage through software in respect of Persons with Disability Which was presently converted to UDID.
