Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme

To reduce the financial distress of SC/ST and minority families, the government decided to sanction a one-time financial assistance of Rs 1,00,116 at the time of marriage for the brides who are residents of a Telangana state. Accordingly, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak have been introduced by the Government of Telangana, effective October 2, 2014, for unmarried girls who have completed 18 years of age and whose parental income does not exceed Rs 2,00,000 per annum.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be a resident of Telangana state.
• The bride must be 18 years of age.
• A Bride must belong to below the poverty line category.
• The bride must belong to a minority group.
• The annual income of the applicant family must not exceed INR 2 lakh in the case of SC, ST, or OBC urban and INR 1.5 Lakh in the case of OBC rural.
